I would have to re-calibrate with every battery. I thought I had it figured out switching my receiver but I went out for some practice today and it did the same thing!

I read through this whole thread and tried calibrating 50 different ways and I’ve gotten the same result.

BTW-I’m using a Sanwa m12s with 481 receiver
Never had problem with calibrating issue.

I’ve come to the conclusion this ESC is complete junk. I’ve tried different radios/receivers, sensor wires along with android tablets and PCs all with the same result. This is the 2nd HMX I’ve setup so I know I’m not going crazy.

I really hate Orion stuff now, I’ve never had an issue like this with any esc and I’ve dealt with the archaic first gen DJI software.

The nice thing is there's so many other great brands now (muchmore, reedy, hobbywing, etc) that are doing great. Not sure why Orion went the direction they did but seems like the pros didn't agree either.

Are you from Maryland? If you have time to stop in THE TRACK mimi i can help you. Some android brand won't work when first time to use this ESC really hate it. I have orion r10.1 easy to program if you program box but once you get this is very easy to calibrate with windows computer.

Raved007- thanks for the offer, I actually ended up setting up one of Mimi’s customers HMX, that’s what triggered me to pull mine out of the box and get going. Unfortunately I’ve pulled it and switched back to a hobbywing

Timannnn6-you have any experience with the Muchmore? I’ve been curious to try one of those out

No experience yet as I'm in process of selling my older Orion stuff, but definitely on my short list. Checked out Cav's car at OCRC and def nice stuff.

I'm sorry you guys are having issues. I have come to the conclusion that a pc is the best way to calibrate and change settings from my experience.

What cord are you using to try and set the esc? I've used my galaxy s8 to setup at least 3 hmx esc's and haven't had a issue

Is there a way to adjust the speed to the motor in reverse? Mine barely has enough power to move the buggy.

I’ve used the cable that came with it and tried a couple that were laying around the house. I set up an HMX previously through a PC so I’m clueless as to why this one won’t hold a calibration with all the different approaches I’ve attempted. Sucks because It seems really nice while it’s working.

I been meaning to send it back but haven’t gotten around to it.

2 questions:
1. can voltage cutoff be set to off? if not, what is minimium?
2. does esc operate with 1s battery? planning to race with external booster
