Or email support @ schuurspeed . com
I think the track is 60/100, 19s laps in 17.5 buggy.

Then 32/69 is most likely over geared. maybe 32/72 or possibly 31/69 or drop another pinion?

Important this would be for a 2.6 Internal Transmission, if 2.43 then drop the pinion at least 1 lower

How do I ID IT? It's a mostly stock B5M. So 31/69 would be better, and what timing?

Default Gearing on 13.5 4wd buggy

Hi,

I searched, but didn't find much info on what I should be shooting for on gearing for 13.5 4wd buggy.

The track is Hot Rod Hobbies and I am running a xray xb4. I have the 75 tooth spur gear, but I wasn't sure what pinion or FDR to run.

I ordered the Schuurspeed signature select V3, SPEC select 1650+ 12.5x25.2 501125S rotor, ceramic bearings, and 40 degrees of timing.

I was going to try 27 tooth pinion, but I am open to any suggestions from Ron or anybody who has any experience running 13.5 4wd buggy. Thanks.

I would suggest starting at FDR of 8.9 - this is a starting point as I have not seen the track.

All B5M's are 2.6 internal, motor timing of 42 on the motor should get you going. But when trying different timing and gearing take a moment to check motor temps the first couple runs - just in case - after a minute and again after a couple.

I'm looking to get another Schuur Speed 17.5 to run in 4WD stock buggy. This time I was going to get a SELECT motor but I'm not sure what options are best for the 4WD v 2WD??

Anyone got some advice?? It will be in a B44.3 with a Hobbywing V3.1 Stock Spec ESC.

In the 4wd buggy you would consider the SELECT 12.5x25mm rotor, stainless steel bearings and for timing 40 degrees.
The bearing are for ease of maintain in offroad environment. Any further questions please ask.

Email kept saying delivery failure
Hello,
I am new to the spec racing scene but I do know it's very competitive and precise. I just purchased a Losi 22 that I am running in mid motor configuration. I am coming back from a 5 year racing hiatus and ran my first time today. My car has a tekin rs speed controller and I am running a spec blinky class. My current motor is a Losi Xcellorin 17.5 geared at 33/70. This motor doesn't have end bell timing and was temping 140 after a long run. I did some research tonight and I understand your motors are some of the best in terms of speed and torque. A buddy was running a Losi 22 2.0 rear motor in blinky with a tekin rs and trinity d3 17.5. His car was outperforming mine in torque (decent amount) and top end (slightly). I know I need a different motor because my best run was a 17lap run when the top 17.5 guys are going 18-19 laps. What do you recommend as I am fairly consistent yet i feel corner exit, straightaway speed are holding me back a few tenths a lap along with not being able to hit the triple in the rhythm that the d3 was?

Thanks for the help

Thanks. Would this be the same for 2WD or should I go for the 45 degree timing for 2WD??

Regards
Shane

if you were to compare a 17.5 standard v3 and the new select range with the same options and setup same timing etc, what would we be talking in regards to say theoretical increase in lap times?

I would think lap times are extremely track and driver dependent and am not sure anybody can answer your question. Add in the fact that the select series gives you rotor, bearing, and timing selection options and you have even more variables.

Bottom line is it's theoretically a motor built more carefully with slightly better materials tuned for your application.

Having said that, the colored (coloured) endbell is worth at least 0.3 seconds a lap.

Edit: I see you're from 'Straya so I added a translator.

I just went to order one of your 17.5 SELECT motors and found there was no shipping option to Australia?? How do I go about getting one of these magneficent beasts?? I've already got a 17.5 V3 Stock Spec and I'd really like to get the select version for my second car. For obvious reasons I can't find the select in any online stores so I'm hoping you guys do international shipping.

Absolutely. I have both a regular V3 & a Select Edition one, & I honestly haven't been able to tell any real difference in my lap times, but I DO love its look, & it allows me to keep my regular V3 as a spare....
