Hi, how can we tell if we have the new 120A 2.1 with the upgraded MOSFET board? I am looking to get one at the shop now and the shop doesn't know anything about the board except that they received the stock about 3 weeks ago. Thanks.

I had to reset my radio to esc when upgrading to a newer program. This will get rid of rotor "stutter" at idle.

You may have a bent rotor shaft? Loosen the three screws at the front of the motor about one to two turns then spin the rotor by hand. The end cap of the motor housing will wobble if the rotor shaft is bent.

I bent one on a 550 size motor (4.5t) on my Hyper SC10. I was doing insane, stupid, crazy jumps. It now makes a buzz sound.....

Why waste a motor and $$ when you can buy new motor bearings and have it running properly at a fraction of teh cost to replace it.
Just a note on your hassle, sometimes when you overheat a motor the rotor gets so hot it loses magnetic strength, this causes a funny whining noise when you drive it but will also make the motor get hot and in some cases the esc will get hot too.
Seeing that it did get quiet ofter oiling the bearings, replacing them looks like the answer to your particular hassle.

Hi all.
i'm new guy here...

HW v2.1 is the upgraded version
so all of v2.1 are upgraded from v2.0
to handle more load but unnecessary
for motor 8.5+.
to check, you can see the wiring position
they aren't same compare with v2.0.

v2.0 the battery + - stay together
but v2.1 isn't

Default New Brushless ESC

Hi everyone...it's been a while since I last posted!

Anyway, I am running a trusty old Noval GTB in my 1/12th and the cars is great to drive, but I'm getting blitzed on the straights as I don't have dynamic timing.

So... I'm in the market for a new ESC... I really like the look of the LRP SXX StockSPec but can't afford it. Ditto for the Tekin RS and the GM...

But the HobbyWing XERUN 120SD looks really good for the price.

How does it compare on the track to the "major brands"?
Is the timing dynamic (turbo / boost functionality)?
What version 60A / 120A should I go for for 10.5 1/12th racing?
Software version...?

Am I wasting my money getting one of these...should I save up my money for something more mainstream?

Sorry for all the questions, but seems like a intelligent audience

get HW V2.1 or xtreeme stock if it available..
my HW 120 V2.1 can eat Tekin for Lunch,LRP SS for Breakfast and GM for Dinner...

my local racers used those 3 escs above (and they know how to set up an ESC)

Default XERUN v2.1

Seems like the 2.1 is the beastie to get then.

Any idea on price and availbility ? I guess I need to mail order as there is no UK retailer (Schumacher have the Speed Passion range and there is no cross competition unlike LRP/Nosram)

Dave

It would be nice if those speedos weren't made from unobtanium and distributed equally.
