Track tested the ESC last night. I am not seeing much difference in the stock software when you select the lower punch DSSR settings. It still seems really rippy. Not a bad thing, but it was not expected. I thought it might significantly reduce the torque. Adding timing to this is really extreme. Much more power than I experienced with the tekin and better than what the MMP has. Still the MMP is has more low end rip, but that is not what I am looking for. I want drivable power.

and there it is, on the left, under "usb link software"
click on it, go to the detail page, scroll to the bottom and you can download it.....

As far as I know hobbypartz sells genuine products. I've ordered from them several times, including hobbywing escs.

At the moment we have 4 suppliers of Hobbywing products in the USA

1.CRC Frank calandra racing concept new york

2.Shurr industries

3.Hobbypartz .

4.sekido

Now Hobbypartz i must make you aware they are about 10% cheaper on products but the warranty period is 1 month only and the support for racers is average .

The other 3 mentioned above crc ,shurr and sekido the support is available via phone, email and track side and the warranty period of all Hobbywing product is 1 year from date of manufacture .

So please do not return your product to shurr, sekido or crc if you have purchased it from hobbypartz as they will not be able to help you with warranty issues .You need to contact hobbypartz for your warranty .

thank you for your understanding

only one out of the four you listed, are on hobby wing's web site.
It has been very difficult to get information about the USA dealers. HW has the best product right now. thanks for letting us know there are now US Dealers and who they are.

I'm currently looking at a Tekin Rx8 and 4600 Pro4 setup for a Losi TEN SCTE.
What should I look at from HW to compare against, that is ROAR/IFMAR legal?

I'm guessing the Xerun SC Pro for the ESC, but I can't seem to find a similar or better motor. I've read a lot of good things about the tenshock 4pole motors, but they seem to not be race legal.

What information has been released about this new version? I looked on the HW site and did not see anything. Does anyone know what will be different?

I am not sure why the motor would not be race legal as this is essentially a mod class. And for that matter allows sensorless motors or sensored motors. Where is it that you are looking? 550 I believe is the can size and that any motor of this size should be legal. In 1/8 scale buggy I am running a T8 tekin motor with a MMP. Probably will be running the HW in SC4x4 with a Pro4. I will have to see how it works this summer.

From my reading of the rules (and commentary on them), 550's were limited to 2 poles to be race legal. Thus why the Tekin goes 540 for the 4pole.

For a list of pre-approved motors (no TenShock):

Wow, I can't believe there is a list of approved motors for this class. That seems really silly to me. Looks like all the castle motors are not approved either. Probably didn't want to pay to get on the list. Just get the pro4 and a HW to run it.
