I also renewed my ROAR in September - 9/17 to be exact - and payed via PayPal. Heard nothing for weeks, then on 10/4 got this email

Dear ROAR Member, Thank you for your recent online registration to renew or become a new ROAR member. This email is verification of your registration and will serve as a temporary membership card until the funds have been verified and your official card arrives from the ROAR offices.

Thank you for using our online service and good racing!

Do not reply to this e-mail. Questions regarding your membership should be sent to
[email protected]

There was more, including my ROAR number - I printed the email and put it in my pit box. Still no card yet.

The ROAR Administrator is going through treatment for Stage 4 cancer. Cut him a break.

I hope he will be all right but for such an organisation it seems to me that another person has taken over his task.

It shouldn't have to be. Cancer is a very personal struggle.

But he's been doing such a good job for so long nobody wants to touch it. I hope he gets well soon.

That's fine, I get it. Though I shouldn't be given crap for his 'personal struggle' that is not common knowledge. Just trying to right a wrong, and not get into some pissing match!

That is nice but within any organisation no reason not to fill in his position while he is not available.

If someone would want to step up and volunteer then go right ahead. But I don’t see a line forming to do that from the complaint department.

So if no one want to stand up to fill in that position (even temporairy) then no one has the right to complain!

No, but once I did fill in a vacancy no one wanted to do at our national RC racing organisation. And I know for many years people can complain a lot of what goes wrong at the races and when the time is there to change it they do not take action.

So I do know what's it like!

i wouldn’t mind doing it . If they ship me the tools so I don’t have to spend money out of my own pocket I would be more than happy to do it till he gets better .
