Cool, thanks Dave. You're correct, it's an HP-CS. Have you shot the fastcolor with the .35 tip? or do you recomend the .50? Thanks.

The .35 set-up is fine. I use Fascolor, Auto-Air, and Createx with that size and it sprays perfect. My other 2 brushes have a .3 nozzle and they too spray those paints great. However I have to reduce the paint for it to spray smooth. The .5 nozzle is better for spraying pearls and glitter, but the .35 can still spray them.

I use the 35 mostly. I bought the 50 parts just to try it. I found it flowed too much, and getting fine control (for me) was easier with the 35.

I reduce thicker Faskolors with AutoAir 4011 and it works great.

So when you refer to "reducing" the paint, do you mean diluting it? If so, what do you use and in what ratios? I just bought some Faskolor Flourescent green. Havent bought a brush yet but Im leaning toward the Iwata. Thanks.

Use Auto-Air's 4011 reducer. I reduce my paints between 20 and 60% depending on what I am spraying. If I am spraying transparents or opaques for a base coat, I reduce it 20% just to make it flow better. But if I am spraying it for a fade or drop shadows I reduce to 40 to 60%.

Yes, like Mark says, diluting the paint to make it go thru the brush easier, and go onto the surface the way you want.

Ratios is one of those things that you need to mess with and practice. Some paints require less thinning (or none at all). Other require more.

One thing about using 4011 and detailing, if you have not read this already, is tip-dry. When you are pushing lots of air and flowing small amounts of paint, like light shading a fade, the paint tends to dry on the needle and cause a blob that blocks paint flow. Just stop occasionaly and pick away the blob with your fingers or a lint free rag and keep on going. 4011 is great stuff and really makes waterbased paints much easier to work with for me.

I get my autoair from www.dixieart.com.

A 4oz bottle goes a long way.
