lol yes i know its water based as with createx. But Ive never heard of anyone using that method. I havent painted as long as alot of the guys but Dont see needing that. You just need to let it completely dry in normal room temperatures. I use krylon crystal clear to seal all my paint jobs which is similar to what your talking about doing but never seen anyone use it for color.

The heat just speeds it up. In the summer, I just leave stuff in my garage. If its 100 outside, its 120+ in my garage! Auto body shops force dry stuff all the time.
You can change the color slightly with the backer. I use a solid color to seal it up and 'cheat' my way out of using the backer color.

Brad, that Mustang looks sweet! Is it the new McAllister one?
Do you know what red that is? I'm looking for a Ducati red for a MotoGP themed VTA & that looks pretty close. Thanks, Jay.

We think it's a Pegasus. The red is Parma fasred (non florescent, the straight red). Sorry I couldn't be more help. We actually tried to get into VTA over a year ago. The local on road scene has been dead for about six years. So that body actually just sat for about a year. Recently, one of the LHS brought back their on road program, and that's why I twisted his arm to go ahead and paint it.

Good year lettering - HOW?
i searching this thread and what I got was that some bodies had the lettering in there, are these really a sticker?
I asked a selled how he did his and he said he hand painted them. I haven't thie skills and I don't believe that a sticker would stay on too well.
So, how are people doing this?

I havent done "Goodyear" but did the "ALAN GREEN CHEVROLET" on my camaro front fenders by hand cutting out of liquid mask. Was a PITA for sure cutting that small but it adds alot of style I think over having stickers. Only stickers I try to use is the "Go fast" equipment stickers
