thats a great looking car and a great idea, may be a tough sell at my "nitro only"track. 2 things holding me back are 1 the weak candian dollar makes it cost like a 4wd nitro. 2 no power at my track what have others with no power done?

Default 1/8th electric stock class will be established

The BURI-Racer E1 is a very simple 1/8th electric chassis.

We are discussing to run these cars in an 1/8th electric stock class in several european countries besides an open (unlimited) class. In the stock class there will be a motor limit with 1900ky and batteries with 4s.
But dont think the BURI-Racers are slow! Look at the videos of the indoor race in Friedrichshafen - the laptimes were nearly the same as in the modified class!

my youtube-channel: BURI-Racer

Assembling a BURI-Racer E1: no special tools needed, no oil for shock absorbers or differential (because there is no one We finish the chassis within 2 hours

Joe,I was ready to get one but like you the price seems to be quite a bit high...the charging should not be a problem a car battery and maybe a little Harbor Freight Generator (>$100usd) should work fine.

There would always be the option to convert to gas! Tom has developed a gas version and we could go that route!!

Hi,
about export to US:

Single shipments are expansive, because each parcel has an import fee of minimum 25 U$ and I have to ship with an international forwarding agent.
Another problem are the US restriction and laws, that doesnt make the business easy.

The consumer price of the roller within Europe is 350.00 € (thats including VAT, in Austria 20%), so without VAT its 291.00 €

I dont know the taxes you have to pay in the States.....

Besides: to compare you have to look at the whole car. For the BURI-Racer i calculate:
roller 350.00
motor 68.00 (SkyRC Toro X8)
esc 89.00 (Hobbywing WP-SC8)
battery 75.00 (LiPo 4s 5000mAh 30c)
total: 582.00 again incl. VAT

Thats expansive? If you calculate a Serpent977e you will not end below 1500.00€ !

Is there any dealer interested to import the BURI-Racer to the States? I am still searching. Please PM

Best regards Thomas

i agree in the end it's less, i get killed on the low canadian dollar. but if it caught on i'm sure the operating cost would be low

Wrong forum, BST. Plus this is a thread for the Buri Racer, not for you to flip your Shepherd.

So I am running the LRP Dynamic 10L 2400kv, on 3S. It's easier to drive, and seems like the chassis handles more like a Pro-10 car now (weight transfer / corner exit is similar). The initial punch off the line has been lessened and its easier to get on the throttle without breaking out. I have tried running 33shore fronts and 33shore rears, in the hope that the weight loss would help saving tires, yet the softer rear shore does not seem to have become beneficial, and if anything the rear end has become a bit less stable. No traction compound added. I still have to play with the new Novak pit wizard, to fine tune the ESC. Overall I think the 3S and SC motor setup is beneficial to shorter tracks and newer racers.

I am going to play with a body with less down force.

Wrong forum again. Try the for sale forum. This thread again is for the Buri Racer not the Velox.

I have some questions about the electronics...

How much weight the car without electronics (but with tyres)...¨

I can see thta most of the people are running 4s with 1/8 electronics. I was thinking about using the car as light as possible... Is it possible to mount a 540 motor on the E1?

My objective would be to run the car with 2s or 3s with a TS160 and 540 motor (2 poles or 4 poles)

Do you think it would be possible?
