Default A good 1/8 scale to start out with???

I am considering running 1/8 scale onroad touring and I wanted to get some opinions on a decent car to start with.

I like the looks of the MRX-3 and the 950 Serpent cars. But realistically, those are probably out of my price range for now.
I did see a Serp 2002 vector nt that I liked the looks of as well.

I think I may lean towards trying to pick up a used MRX-3. I really like the looks of that car and who can argue with the Mugen name right?

Thanks in advance for any input.

I say look to your LHS. Whatever they have parts wise will be good. Both Serpent and Mugen are good cars.. Depends on the the parts availability in you hood.

Hope that helps

My LHS doesn't have a drop of parts for 1/8 scale onroad. Besides that I am not scared of getting a car nobody stocks parts for. I have always mail ordered stuff anyway so that would not be a purchasing angle for me.

Thanks for your input.

I might know someone that might be selling his MRX-3 works kit. I'll ask him and let you know.

If you can get the NT at a good price, that car should be perfectly fine.

I'm thinking of getting an 1/8th scale nitro car, currently I'm playing 1/10,and I'd like to try something new.
Anyone tried PB Diamond before?a brand new 950R is a little too expensive for me because I'm planning to play my 1/8 just for fun.
Unless I'm intending to race my 1/8,I'll stick to a second hand one.

MRX-3 I feel is the best car out right now and also getting parts has been real easy.
