It's not the same as an OS Rocket squeeze, but it will get you by in a pinch.

OMG that was awful. Sorry.

You put the sleeve into the round hole

Then with a hex wrench (purchase seperatly) you tighten the Hex screw which then squeezes the top 4mm or so of the sleeve.

Very effective tool!

C clamps have no business near your cyl. liner!!!

This is the only sleeve pinching device that has any merit...
http://www.rayaracing.com

I am doing a review of this device and I am going to dyno an old worn out engine and use ray's pinch device to re fit the sleeve, then retest engine on the dyno. This review will appear in XRC mag in a few months.

That device will work in some ways, but you will damage the performance of your motor in the long run. There is no way that tool can make the sleeve round and hence you will increase blowby. Also your taper will be affected which will also affect the performance. I been there done that.

the only reason i bought that is so when i sell a used engine i pinch it and sell it

ive only used one of my engines pinched and it worked fine

but i do not pinch my sleeve to race with (buy a new engine or if i can find the same p/l that it came with)

Thanks

For bashing or non serious racing it will work a treat. I got around 40 litres out of a RB X12 with a similar tool before the motor bearing and crank wore out. And it ran darn well, just got a little unreliable towards the end.

All I was saying is dont rely on this tool to restore maximum performance to a high end .12.

LOL.....you're saying that you wouldn't do it to an engine you run,...but you do it to used engines you sell because you know it's not a good way to do it...

Is the moral of the story don't buy a used engine from you???
jersey likes this.

umm thats not what i said

i have spare engines

so why would i use one that i have pinched rather than a new one???

and as i said i have tested it untill the pinch went away and it ran fine

but an engine that needs pinching would have some other bits that need to be replaced such as conrod and conrod related bits and o ring seals, so for me much easier to just use a new engine

get what i mean?

I think I know where you were coming from....

Why run a pinched engine when you have a new one there...

The Con-rod is the forgotten part of the whole sleeve pinching equation...

Too many people think that the P & S are the only wearing components....

Regardless of the reasoning...I'm still not a huge fan of the $20 clamping tools....Ilike my pistons round
