Just bought a .12 Keep On, it's been quite a few years since I've had to run in a .12 (been running offroad for the last 4-5 years). Running in the engine doesn't pose a problem, but how long do I expect it to take? I've just recently run in a Bonito .21, but it was hand lapped prior so run in was relatively quick.

Looking forward to hitting the black stuff with this engine bolted into my new Mugen MTX6 Tourer

Novarossi motors are very tight and can take a good 3/4 of a gallon or more to fully seat in. Depending on your method of break in of course however most come to full race potential in that general area. Its been a while since I have broken in a .12 but the one I did a while back came to power quicker than my .21s.

Anybody else running a Top .12 engine? I have both a Keepon and Top. They were both broke-in the same and each has about a gallon and a half through them. They have the same clutch and settings, same header and pipe, but the Top seems to have a little more of "everything" everywhere. Nothing crazy, just noticeable. Any comments? I'm the only one at my club running it.

You can never compare 2 engines, even when they are the same model from a same production. All has to do with tolerances.

Seeing the latest bt9, the carburetor goes back to center.
Any insights? To make the engine sit in more easily or just marketing?
But still too expensive compared with an OS which costs only $300

The BT9 is KeepOn based, hence the central carb.

a re-package heatsink version with its proprietary expensive bearing. this is fatal to kill the sales of this engine

Wow, really?
Keep on motors are my favorite, so far, that I've run.
Its nice to know the top motor is just as good, and if not mistaken its cheaper

Hi guys,

I have a new Novarossi Plus 12-3SCT Tuned engine and am tossing up which pipe to install. The track I race on is small, tight and twisty so I'm deciding whether to buy an O.S. T-1050SC L52 (which is supposedly suited to the lower rev range) or a Novarossi 51610. Any suggestions? I'm happy to hear other brand/pipe suggestions to go with my engine as well.

Cheers,
Mick
