Default Drake Novarossi

Hi all:

Seems like most of you are onroad racers. However, I am hoping you can help with an offroader question.

I have a Drake Edition Novarossi in my offroad truck. It's a side exhaust motor and the port timing is perfect for gas truck. However, since Trinity no longer imports Novarossi, the motor has disappeared.

Is this motor still manufactured by Novarossi but distributed under a different part number?

If not, does anyone have any contacts where I can purchase new motors, pistons, and sleeves for this motor?

Thanks!

i did ask a LHS ...and he told me the main difference was :
RRL - more torque
NSR- more high speed

so its a short stroke motor compared to the ns.

they are both listed as same hp but 200 less rpm for the rr.

they should last equal amount of time as they are same material.

you probably wont feel a differance between the two in power band.

if they were real engines the short stroke would turn more rpm and make more hp at a higher rpm , and last longer ,as the short stroke long rod has a better rod ratio which means less side load against the sleeve, but according to novarossi theis is not the case
hope it helps (now iam confused) lol
The RR is a long stroke engine with a smaller bore. I have both engines and the RR has a massive amount of torque.

I got my best times with this engine. You have to gear up to get the top speed in the straight but this doesnt affect the low end power as it has it in spades

Cheers

Small track RR12L3. Long track NSR.

The one you run in the best and run cooler will last the longest

I just read through the forum and see what everybody is using

Gold springs on the rear with upright shocks
Black on the front laid down

35 weight oil in the shocks

Lots od droop on the back 2mm at the front

2 deg toe in at the back 0 at front

Hope this helps

Cheers

Well, you have a problem there, because that engine was an exclusive product for Trinity. The new distributor for Novarossi, I understand is Mugen Racing USA, but the engine they are offering for off-road trucks is this one

http://www.mugenracing.com/mtseries.htm

It is a long rod Mugen MT12 redesigned for off-road trucks, but it is a rear exhaust engine.

I would suggest you contact them.

Thanks. Do you happen to know what trinity's part number was for that motor?
