Default CRF 21 2008 Onroad

Hi All,

What Picco Version is the CRF 21 2008 Onrad based on? Evo2 or 3?

The Crankcase looks like an Evo2. How about the timing?

Cheers
TP

Team Orion engines may be similar to Picco but actually have a lot of differences, mainly because of the CRF technology. So you can't say it's based on Evo 2 or Evo 3 design because it is a mix of technologies. For obvious reasons we are not going to change things that work perfect the way Picco makes them...

Timing on the crankshaft is different because of the CRF technology and the liner timing is also slightly modified.

The engines are continually updated so you can expect some updates in 2009.

Nano, have Orion/CRF addressed the con rod issues that the picco engines have?

what actually happen to the rods?
my previous 'picco' engine fails with the conrod brass bushing (part where it connects to the crank) breaking into pieces.

Afaik the conrod issue is an old one, the CRF engines never suffered from it. Materials used, manufacturing processes etc. are regularly checked.
A specific part will not be problematic for a long time, it will be updated very fast because engines are used all the time, it should not make it to the market.

Of course you can never rule out a problem with mechanical parts, but everything is done to minimize the chances of this occurring.
