shimming from a std head to turbo
if you are using a standard head button on a motor and you wish to change to a turbo head button that is made for your motor then could any one tell me what is the general rule of thumb as to what amount of shims to add.
thanks very much

finding head clearence
I have seen many good article on tuning engine, using various technics to get the optimum power out from the engine.
Here, Is there any technics we can use to find out the optimum head clearence of the engine to operate? Most of the time we use default but as I understand it varies from one country to another especially different height from the sea level.

You have to play with it.....
Lowering the air by less nitro or at higher placed grounds you have to raise the compression...
But raising the compression will give more bottom power and a little bit less top rpm but take care of the combustion, the plug can be damaged at to high compression and the combustion chamber can color gray. Lowering the compression will give less bottom power but will give a bit more top rpm.
Changing the buttonhead to turbo is indeed using the same amount of shims to start with.

I have looked for just head shims on line and can't find any. Any one have a link? Also my O.S came with a brass ring, is this the head gsk or shimm, or are they the same?
