Hi all,

Just want to know if the O.S. T1040 52 exhaust is EFRA legal, and what is the EFRA number?

Or what exhaust will work best for the O.S. speed tuned 12 tz spec 2 that is EFRA legal?

Thanks.

The Sage pipe does go well with the TZ5. Mine is 6mm with reinforced stinger. I can get around 5min 30sec with this pipe and the power is good.

Hi,

I just got myself a TZ 5P and about to do the break in.

Do i need to install any extra copper shim durin break in?

WHat % of fuel is suitable? I have got a 3/4 bottle of 20% from friend, can I use that?

Thanks.

No you don't need to add any copper shim if you are using fuel not more than 30%. I m using Tornado 25% with good result. As for your 3/4 bottle of 20% fuel just make sure it is still in good condition (fresh).

hi guys,

i recently got a pre owned OS.12TZ, it is still tight when in TDC, he used to run 16% fuel. Yesterday i started it up, i noticed that it will still be tight without the plug. Is that normal?

another thing is when in TDC the crank will have some play from the conrod.. is it normal? WIll it be the same if i change the conrod?

sorry if these are rookie questions. i read the whole tread, i know they are tight engine but was a bit concerned.

thanks in advance,

warren.

Hi Warren it is normal for the tight pinch with os tz engines. I used to run them a nd they take forever to break in. Find out how many litres its hard and if its been pinched or sleeve resized.

Depending on the amount of play it would be a good idea to change the rod. The os conrod is ony cheap anyway. I would replace the rod after 4 litre son the os engines, save the rod for the next engine break in and then discard it.

The OS T1040SC L52 Pipe = The "SC" stands for "Spring Connect" which means it uses springs to attach the Tuned Pipe to the Header, also known as a 1 piece pipe, whereas the OS T1040 L52 Pipe still uses the old fashioned silicone coupling and nylon tie to attach to the manifold.

i've recently used my spec 2 with novarossi 2630 pipe..the resaults at the begining were awesome as i had posted...7 min run time and 66 celsius...that was after i had finished brake in the engine..at the race i got into my first pit stop at 6:15 min,but as the time passed by i ended getting into the pits every 4 minutes....why that happened?i use 16% nitro fuel and i have not take off any of the head shims since i bought it..do you thing if i increase compression by taking off one head shim and readjust the carburater settings should fix the problem?or shoyld i try the 1040 os max pipe?what's your opinion gyus?...fortunately i won that race but i don't think i'm gonna win again if i enter the pits every 4 minutes...by the way the engine run perfect..the only problem is the fuel consumption

odd that you were getting that runtime and temp with the 2630. Most people complain that it makes the engine hot and have poor runtime. The 1040 will definitely improve consuption, I think it's a much better pipe all around for the engine compared to the nova

As the engine starts to run in it will start to get richer which is propably why you were coming in for fuel sooner
