Team Orion CRF Wasp Rev X-Dyno results

Hi guys, I need some help with my clutch set-up. I’m going to install my Orion CRF Wasp Rev (1st version) / Orion CRF 2626 pipe and header on my G4S (stock) using the Orion Clutch Setup for G4S. I need some inputs on (a) clutch spring preload (b) end play (c) clutch gap (d) how many set screws to install on weight.
And also for those G4S guys using this combo, do I need to replace any of the pullies and what pinion/spur shall I use to make this engine rev?

We have borrowed a Serpent flywheel and parts so we can put together a complete Orion conversion kit on our GPX4.
Will test this afternoon.
BTW, how do people measure the spring preload? I have seen measurements from top of the threads to top of spring collar. And also from bottom of spring collar to top of clutch shoe.
I see some say preeload of less than 1mm, but also more than 2mm...
During testing yesterday we had some problems with high revs after throttle input.

All depends on the distance the flywheel is away from the crankcase after installation. The cones that locate the flywheel are all different sizes and you cant measure the distance from the top of the nut to the spring collar as this will vary due to the flywheel gap.
Set it at 0.8 mm and keep tightening it until it engages too late and then loosen 1/4 turn

On the G4S id say .5/.6mm clutch gap and all the weights or at least 1 weight, endplay .1mm.
Preload is a touchy setting and id advise starting at 1mm with a black 1.8mm clutch spring.make adjustments of 1/4 turn untill it slips a bit and then back off 1/4 turn.
Gearing would depend on if you running std transmission gearing or ED.
std gearing id suggest 18t brake and side pulley and 18t 1st gear pinion ,if running ED run 15t or 16t 1st gear pinion.
ED is the way to go for the CRF though and would make the engine come alive both for bottom performance and top speed.

We did some more testing yesterday with the serpent flywheel an Orions Serpent conversion kit on our Hobao. Also geared it down a bit for our tight track.
Man, did it come alive!!!!
Further testing is done today with the Orion pipe kit (2626).
We used all the weights, 0,5 gap, about 1,8mm preload (shimmed the flywheel nut so that the spring starts to compress when the back of the nut is flush with the top of the threads), and about 0,05mm endplay.
Leaned the HSN quite a bit. LSN was made richer than factory settings.
Air temp is about 4-5C (freezing! )
Running MECCAMO touring competition fuel: 16% nitro, 8% oil.
Big thanks to Nano for helping us understand this engine better and bring out its potential!!

Therefore you can always measure from the end of the nut to the spring collar as this part of the setup remains constant regardless the position of the flywheel from the crankcase.

Yeah your right... I was thinking of the clutch gap shimming which does alter if the flywheel is out more as the thrust bearing retainer screws onto the crankcase.

We put shims under the flywheel nut, to have the spring just starting to compress as the back of the nut is flush with the top of the nut (threads) and that worked out nicely.
Not sure how everybody else does it, but with this method we should all be able to compare and try the settings that people post.

I have just received a few nos of CRF2007, ORI80600 from my local distributor.
Almost everything is the same as Cyrul spec. except the cylinder is different.
It has more torque and better top speed than the older version.
