I started brewing fuel about 6 months ago because of the fact that I blew 2 motors on VP basher fuel. I was fed up with ordering fuel aswell.
I started brewing fuel and using Maxima 927....and still do! The oil is great. Internals always look clean with no sign of wear. Motors significantly dropped in temps since I stated running this oil/fuel brew.
That said...I have also tested out the Koltz Techniplate 80% synthetic /20% castor and have been very happy with it aswell.
However It seems like my big blocks like the maxima 927 blend more so then the small blocks. The small blocks seem to like the Techniplate much more.
And to clarify what Neal's concern is about the maxima. It will separate from the fuel below 32F as it is castor based. That is the downfall of it. Really wouldn't worry about it though with the methanol/nitro. It mixes extremely fast/well.
On the smell....Well I prefer the Maxima as I grew up smelling the maxima 927 from the dirbikes I used to ride.
