Best motor for $300?
Lookin for a good buggy motor lookin to spend in the $300-350 range but don't know what to get?

With what purpose?
For toplevel racing you can get many top brand engines, for bashing and clubracing you can get 2 engines for that budget.

Werks makes really good engines in that price range, so does Fusion. These are really the only engines I recommend because of customer service. If you have a problem Ron or Monty will fix it for sure. Orion did not have good customer service on a WC engine I had (3 cases were cracked in Vietnam) Novarossi also has some good engines and so do Alpha. Had an OS with no issues but they are out of your budget.
Again Fusion and Werks all have great service if you have any issues

I believe my tuned Picco 5TX would fit the bill splendidly....likely more powerful and faster then anything else South of $300.00....extremely easy to tune...... dyno tested so you know exactly what your getting.....

look up Lance at RcRenew/Triton R/C he did a lot of the leg work on the Picco line of engines and has since came out with his own. He is a great guy and very down to earth and willing to assist however he can....

If you're new to nitro (I assume you are by your sig) I'd suggest not spending $350 on a motor.
A Nova p5xlt is a more than adequate racing engine and you can find them dirt cheap since Nova has come out with a plethora of other .21 off road engines. It's a stout motor with tons of low end power, and with the right plug, pipe and fuel combo they are easy to tune.
AMain has them for $185 right now. You could still get a nice pipe set like the 2096 or 9901 and still come in under budget.
Werks also has some bang for the buck engines with the b5 and b6. Never ran them but I hear lots of good things on the forums and they're also popular at my local track.

Check out the Triton L4 and L5 engines for sure. I designed them to be the best in every aspect and for the price they really are hard to beat.

We'll I have been running nitro for a little bit and got a good handle on tunning I believe. I already have a O.S. 2090 pipe just wanting to try a different motor and somthing good for the season. I love my spec ll in my truggy just didn't want spend that much on another motor

We run the Triton L4 and L5 and couldn't be happier with them. They run great with superior power and runtime. I have been running nitro for many years and haven't found anything better. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed.

check out the Picco engine line at desotoracing.com. Awesome engines right in your price range and will last you a good amount of time where properly taken care of

picco and triton both look good on the track and they seem very stable. I have not personally seen the alpha motors look good and not flame out.....
my personal reccomendation would be to get a p5xlt
If was my money I would buy a samurai from amain, best bang for your buck and you already have the right pipe for it.....
