After running Bones Brew 30/8 for the whole season, I tore down my engines today to see how the internals look. All I can say is my engines look brand spanking new and there is a nice gold coating of oil on everything! Bones Brew A++++++++ Can't wait till next season to order some more and run with the confidence my engine is being properly fueled and lubricated!

I never used it, but always open to try new fuel especially if it increases performance

Has anyone ever tested the 30/8 vs. 30/10 on the track. Was thinking there probably isn't much of a difference in performance and maybe the extra oil would offer a little more engine life.

lala4fire - The Aluminum Spout that we sell screws on to each quart jug.

Shark2288 - Yes the 30/10 does give you extra protection with the extra oil. See below the differences:

30/10
1. More Oil content giving you extra protection (may extend a engine life 1 gallon more than the 30/8)
2. With the added oil you will need to lean out the engine a little more to get similar performance of the 30/8
3. With the extra oil and a little leaner tune, will run a touch hotter
4. Used by about 5% of our offroad racers and 90% 1/8 late model oval racers

30/8
1. Less oil content
2. Easier to tune with good performance since the tune doesn't need to be spot on.
3. Will run a little cooler
4. used by 95% off road racers and 10% 1/8 late model racers

You can always give me a call if you want to discuss further (309) 370-1147. If I can't answer, Leave me a message and I will call you back.

Thanks,
Brent Bones

sorry to bring up an older thread but looking to probably order this fuel. New to nitro, got an engine here the previous owner said was almost done with breakin, should I get a quart of the breakin fuel?

Also, in general howmuch is shipping for fuel if you don't buy the amount that has free shipping?

Fill fuel tank, prime engine, start engine, warm engine up thoroughly, re-tune needles.

All that is typically needed when changing fuels is re-tuning the needles. If you change Nitro content in a dramatic fashion, a different heat range glow plug may be needed.

There are many guys that insist you run the same fuel from break-in through the end of an engines life. This can be done, but is hardly necessary. In fact, Novarossi for example specifies a different fuel composition for breaking in and regular running. 2-3 different “steps” for the first few liters/quarts even. So that’s myth busted.

Some will think I’m crazy (if they don’t already), but I will sometimes run my first quart of fuel with no nitromethane in the fuel at all.
