Just about any .21 engine is capable of this, especially if you know how to adjust your throtle EPA. I set mine to 68 for my Werks B5 and I am getting nearly 12 minutes in my Mugen 6T. I still have more power than I can possibly need!

This is especially true for tracks with long straights. Basically, a lot of guys (myself included) make the mistake of going WOT on straightaways, where the last 20-30% of the throttle slide makes very little difference in the power curve. Basically, once you've reached your peak HP RPM, you're not going to get any more power... no matter how much "more" throttle you give it. At that point, you're just dumping more fuel into the mix. This can actually give you a false "rich" setting on top, when running wide-open (not a good idea for tuning anyways).

Additionally, with many slide-type carburetors, the slide will actually move slightly past WOT, causing turbulence just below the venturi. Again, at this point you're just dumping excess fuel into the mix. The result is less power and more fuel usage.

Using a restrictor and limiting EPA is a huge way of conserving fuel.

Hookem... go talk to Elliott at RCHQ about his EPA setting. He's got an alpha that's pretty much dialed in at 40-50% EPA, and he's faster than just about all of us.

Ok, so which of these holds a tune the best?
VSPEC is easy to tune and holds a tune... for about 3 gallons, then you replace it.

Hey Darn It - I have a Vspec with 7 gallons on it and it still fires up. No leaks and a little compression left.

But I think here on out, Im sticking to my EU engines.

As some already have written here, the entire drive-train have a big influence on fuel economy. Ceramic-bearings and everything setup with the right tolerances and right setup on the clutch makes a huge difference.
When Iīm just bashing with my D8 I turn the HSN out 2hours and I get 11,40-12,5 min with a Picco P7-R evo2 (temp 240).
At the track I turn the HSN in about 2hours and temps are at average 210.
But there I havenīt timed it even ones, just fuels it at 8min and are happy with that.
In 99% of the time I donīt need to open the throttle all the way, but for that 1% I still have it setup so I can. If it didn't make any difference I would change the venturi to a different size or shape, as I did.
Expo is good when it comes to fine tuning the last bit, but I see it as a last resort.

Just hove I see it.

Will do. He is always battling it out with Mike B. when I am racing on Saturdays.

I got 10 minutes out of my ninja........once! In the truggy though it will do it all day, but most motors will. I don't think a mileage type of driver unfortunately.
