difference in os engines

Default difference in os engines

Can someone please explain to me what exactly the difference is in the os B2103 type R and the Drake edition 2 engines? thanks

2103 Type R -- 5 port, long stroke, 22e carb
Drake 2 - 3 port, semi-long stroke, 21j carb

Type R - potentially more total power though less smooth of a delivery. AD2 engine in my opinion is smoother, better mileage. Your choice depends upon what you're using it for.

Yes. Compare the bore & stroke of the 2 engines and you'll see what I mean.

what would you use the different engines for? type R for truggy and drake for buggy or ??

It's all personal preference. I like smoother power in buggy, so I'd run the AD2 in buggy (or B2101, which is my favorite), and the Type-R or a XZ-B Spec II (Tessmann 110% silver head) in truggy because of all the low-end power and overall power it makes.
