Farewell to Rain City

Farewell to Rain City
To all my wonderful friends and families of RC racing,
Some of you have heard rumors, and others have known for a while: Rain City in Lynnwood will be closing on Dec. 31, 2006.
There are always a few possibilities: Someone buys it and moves it, it is put in storage to reopen at another location or someone wants to take over. I would be happy to talk with anyone who is interested.
I have been in turmoil since Aug. and after discussing with a few people, and this was the only thing to do. There was no final decision until recently.
Yes, due to all the reasons that are out there, rent, personal and family, economics, health and new grand babies coming, it is time.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Rain. All the wonderful people I have met and made friends with. Many, I don’t see much, but I do remember them and all the great times we had. I’ve started a list and will be posted on raincityraceway.
I have had a wonderful journey of RC racing since '95 when Andrew first started racing.
I loved it then and I still love it now.
But things change and it’s time for me to move on.
I am planning a final race at Rain City on the weekend of Dec. 16 and 17, 2006.
A kind of farewell race, hope you can come by and race or visit.
Please know that this is and always will be one of my saddest moments in my life,
Debbie

Sorry to see Rain City go. Only raced there twice but both occasions were the most memorable of my short carpet racing experience.
Thanks Debbie, for all you have done for us and wishing you the best of everything.

This totally sucks. Our RC Flags should all be flying at half mast.
Rain City has been a haven for RC racing, as any track owner knows its nothing but sacrifice of your wallet and personal life to stay open.
So People.......!!!!!!!!!! We all need to say thanks for the memories, and take the time to say thank you to the people who will continue to make sacrifices to provide you with a place to play.
Thanks Debbie Cartwright and RainCity Raceway.

Thank you Debbie for all the great times, Its sad to see the rain close. Hope your future is full of more great memorys and fun stuff, I'm sure the little rug rats will keep you busy and maybe you and your hubby will have a little more time to enjoy life. All my best to you and your family. Sincerely John B.

Thank you all for those kind words. I've been getting lots of mail from people and it's so great to hear from everyone. It really does make me sad, but yet glad to leave folks with some good memories of good races. That's all anyone can hope to do.
I will be having some sales very soon. Gotta get it all gone!
Probably next week.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for the O and O race. (over and out)

Debbie: We just wanted to say thank you for making us feel very welcome and putting on a great show both time we had come up there. We will miss racing at your place and the feeling that you sincerely appreciated everyone coming to your events.
It is odd timing that we are moving forward on our facility down here, and can only hope to draw a close knit and tight group of racers as you did. We would hope our approach and lower overhead will allow us to continue for as many years as you.
Good Luck, and
Thank You
