Sorry Razzor.

I didn't mean to step on your toes.
But I do agree with your suggestion about the outdrives.

The G4S has been out for a bit over a year now so i was half expecting somthing new i must say its very difficult being the only person at my club that races G4 i wish the distributer would push it a bit more but i think they are more interested in the electric market as they also do corally, novak and team orion which are heavily advertised.

Ok guys,

got some interesting answers to ask:

1. how can we tell or monitor the receiver pack for max voltage?

2. Coz i know if she drops to down low, the can can do the runaway from us as the fail safe on the spektrum only works on when the radio looses power of has interferrance.

3. So what messures can most of us take to be safe on test/ tune days and race meets?

cheers, share your thoughts and whats the best to monitor

the easiest non electronic thing to do is to put a return spring on the throttle and a volt watch for the reciver pack.
WSe usually repeak pack after every two or so runs although you should get a minimum of 1/2 hour on a charged 900mah pack.
Ive just got hold of some 1000mah AAA to make a new pack up for my car.

Kodak dude, I'm glad to hear you had what sounds to be like a good test and tune day. You started to "iron" out the new car blues as I call them. Anyway, as far as your question in regards to your receiver pack, there are a few so called methods. For starters, think of your pack as a maximum of 1 hour of run time with a full peak charge. Hence why you can have a 1 hour main. However don't push the one hour out of your pack unless it is a main.

I always start the day with a full pack. In the morning after "practice" is done whether it's 2 or 9 tanks, I top of the battery for the heats for the day. Then after 3 heats I will top it off again for the main. Doing it this way, I NEVER have to worry about running too low.

However there are small volt meters so to speak that you can connect to the receiver to monitor voltage. They are small and shaped like a rectangle. They are about 1.5cm x 4cm and fairly flat. They have about 8 green led's and 3 red led lights. I have used them in the past for my airplanes. This is about all I know of for actually monitoring the votage while attached to the car. They weigh almost nothing, so weight isn't an issue. But if you just pay attention to how many tanks you are running, you really don't need a monitor other then paying attention.

I would suggest to put some sort of rubberband or something around the throttle of the carb. I actually use these little black or clear hair ties. They are like very thin rubber bands, but much stronger and the fuel doesn't hurt them. I have NEVER had one break. You do need to tripple them up to make them shorter if you know what I mean because of there length. This makes them "shut" the carb to idle just incase your Throttle rod ever came loose or broke or any of the thinks that can go wrong. I have seen it happen plenty of times on other vehicles, and has even saved me more then once.

I'm not sure if I answered your question, but this is what I do and have NEVER had a runaway ever in over 8 years of racing every form of nitro vehicle. The best of luck to you my friend, it sounds as though you are off to a GREAT start!!!!!! Your USA support friend...
