Default 16/19 Conversion

Hi everybody,

According to my calculations if you make the 16/19 conversion and cut 4mm diameter diference between front and back you end up with the same rollout. Whats the deal with that ?

Why not just make the tires the same diameter and have more tire life?

Thanks

if rear tires wear out faster than front tires on your car then i think you can figure out why people use the 16/19 conversion with ture down front tires

if not then you can consider yourself lucky that you have even front and rear tire wear

Hmm the X12 is supposed to be really strong, my bro-in-law has that motor in his MTX-3 but I have yet to see it go. Right now i'm running a TOP TSR3 and its blows every motor on the bottom end so well. Exit speeds that parallel an 1/8th scale's, super strong, easy to start up, etc... the only problem I saw was that on the top end I can see that most of the NS5s at my racetrack pull on me so I took out my two aluminum head shims and replaced them with a copper one.

oh yeah btw I was running 40% nitro. 40% is good.

Hey I have a question, have any of you tried the grey rears? how are they in comparison to the dark blues. I have the dark blue fronts, but my lhs didn't have dark blue rears and I heard the greys were about the same, so I substituted for those.

uhh the x12 is just a mugen labeled novarossi right? They're not overly priced like JP thats for sure haha, but yeah, JP is just a bunch of overated bull in my opinion. I mean they're all based off of a novarossi case but yet they charge so much mark up on they're "mods". believe it or not, I had a MT-12 that was really well worked on from a friend, and it blew a friends JP away.

2 questions, first what kind of motor on the 8th scale you are comparing with? second, if you replace 2 aluminum head shims to one copper then your motor will be over compressed and it will crack the piston! usually silver shims are 0.3mm and copper is 0.1mm

hmm I was comparing it to some at my local track, RAMS, and last sunday was a very tight and technical track. I was very surprised, of course they can hold it longer and late brake it, in all it was fun. Im not sure what motor he was running but i'm assuming it wasn't a high end motor such as a 421 or evo. about the head shim, we added the head silver head shim since we switched over to 40% for the first time, and its running quite cool around 190 or so and not getting enough top end, thats why I'm going to a copper to see how it goes. why do you not suggest it?

* oh i just read what you were getting at, yeah it should be one silver and not two i believe [in my previous post]
