Thanks for your insights.

Yes, I build a blackhawk type tranny myself long time ago from Evolva parts and it worked well. I did the same then later to the BMT rally game car.

IGW008 is obviously the solution today.

Yeah I guess so but I wish they would come out with a high speed solution.

I am running a Blackhawk transmission in my GT2 (made from Evolva parts) and I never have a problem with it. This allows the use of 44 or 45 gears for 2nd gear and 47, 48 or 49T for 1st gear. Unfortunately the Blackhawk is no longer available but you can still build your own Evolva based GT transmission if you are unhappy with the new Kyosho shoe transmission.

MikaR was the first person I remember who made a Evolva transmission for the GT2 car. I think a lot of his ideas went into the making of the Blackhawk transmission that was created by Ipanema.

Contact MikaR and maybe he can post some pictures or links that show how the transmission is made.

Yes, MikaR was the originator of what later mutated into the Blackhawk transmission. That transmission motivated Kyosho to eventually develop the two-shoe version that they currently have on the latest version of the GT2. Now, if they will develop more gears choices for their transmission...........

Default Evolva Inferno 2 speed transmission

Top drawing: Evolva M3 Evo 2-speed transmission.
Bottom drawing: Inferno GT 2-speed transmission.

Are these the 2-speed transmissions you're refering to?

The second transmission yes, the first transmission, no. What MikaR did was to use some of the parts and the gears from the Evolva 2003/2005 transmission on the old 2spd shaft of the original Inferno GT/GT2. Ipanema worked with MikaR, then produced transmission conversion kits in mass. Lets just say what MikaR did in the beginning was simple genius (did what it took Kyosho 4 yrs do, improve their original problematic transmission).

Here

Your choice of gears from evolva, 15/19 is most common but 16/20 and 17/21 available.

Thanks to all who brought up the topic of the blackhawk tranny. I am running this in my IGT2 brushless and totally forgot. Now I have pics, instructions, and part numbers to file away in the case I need to rebuild or change gearing.....awesome.

Hi guys I am new to the forum and love to the advise that is given, help me out a lot. I have got a GT2 RS which is under project being carried out by my son and I, we are running a nova keep-on 21 full cerm with a 2052 pipe and a 41021 for good measure. I have a question, can I run nova exhaust gas cooler with a OS presure chamber at the same time to the exhaust and if so what would be the best arrangement . Thanks
