..............You are on the wrong website go to www.rcuniverse.com and look for the thread in the nitro car section called Nasty 1/10 scale onroad cars using .21 or larger engines.

I'm in the process of putting a Losi 3.4 in a ntc3

Fits perfectly with the stock ntc3 motor mounts and losi 3.4 motor. I tried putting the 2speed clutch bell from the stock NTC# motor on my Losi motor. Clutch bell bolts on but the clutch bell isnt long enough and the bell is to big for the shoes.

The mesh is a little off, need to find a clutch bell and maybe make some engine mounts. Or shim out the bell, but still doesnt solve the bell being too big for the shoes

I think that may be a simple. Fix to mesh the gears. Re drill mounting. Holes for the chases. And for the clutch shoes. Try tmaxx clutch shoes maybe work

I'll look into that option. See what the lhs can come up with.

Swapped the whole NTC3 clutch/flywheel assembly onto the Losi 3.4. Now the problem is when I tighten the bolt that holds clutch bell in place, it will prevent the clutch bell from free spinning. Like its loading the bearings and not allow the clutch bell to spin freely,..I even used a dished/curved washer so it would tighten agained the inner race of the outer bearing. still no dice

Does the bolt on the end tighten up against the bearings/clutch bell? Or does it tighten up against the crankshaft and the washer holds the bell on,...?

Losi 3.4 engine, NTC3 Flywheel/clutch assembly. I'm probably gonna rock with this gear mesh for starters. If i need to move back the engine I'll make some mounts.

So here my suggestion do a button. Head bolt an a small washer not big. just big enough. To houldthe interior part of bearing. But definitely a button head bolt

the screw bottoms in the shaft the clutch bell should have end play you may need to add shims to the end of shaft or use a flange collar to go into the outer bearing.

You need to use small washers that sit on top of the end of the crank but inside the clutch bearing. The associated shim kit comes with some. Then a larger washer under the crank screw will be up against the inner washers. When you have the shim right it will leave just a little play and you will be all set.

ahh, the stock NTC3 motor had only 1 small crank screw washer. I guess I'll have to acquire more to help give me the length I need to clear the bearings.

Thanks!

Now you got it! Then you can crank down the screw tight and the bell will still spin fine. You want just a little play, you should not be able to see the brake shoes with the bell as far forward as the play will allow. Like .5 mm or so.
