Default Protoform SRS-N on Black Edition

Dear all,

Which body post holes are you using as for height of the SRS and do you shave the foam bumper to make it fit? Or you move the body more upfront?

Thanks

I would mount it even with the front wheels. And shave the foam bumper.

I mount mine 4mm forward. To me this gives a nicely balanced car with the wing all the way back (10mm).
Regarding the height, I cut it following the trimline and then make sure it doesn't hit the ground when on track.
I think the SRS is the only body which actually has a usable trimline.

How do you exactly measure the 4mm forward, distance between front foam bumper and body? Since neither the rear or front wheels align well at center.

Default Black edition setup help

Hey guys, so have been running the Black edition and have it on rails, fastest lap time and i can feel the car to be a bit superior than the competition, its practically stock items, what i have changed is a step harder front shocks and 8 hole piston in the rear shock with 1300 allround

Also used the new clutch reversed system and found it better than the normal one. Smoother take off!

So you might be saying whats my problem, basically during practice and qualification the car is .50 per lap slower (avg lap 19.2sec) and very hard to drive (unstable). My biggest concern is that in chicanes the car understeers and on some others tight turns it oversteers heavily that i loose control its also very twitchy. How am i going to sort this out.

They prep the track by sugar and water and from how i set the brake i have noticed that track is very slippery early in the morning.

Suggestions plz

Thanks

Looks great Niko. I can't wait for our outdoor season to start here in the next couple of weeks. It's been a long winter, but, Spring is finally here!

What springs (spring rate) come with the big bore shocks in the Black Edition kit? There's no making and/or number to determine what they are. It does appear that all 4 are the same.

Also, my 2 speed gear assembly has a good amount of side by side play (approx 1-1.5mm) when it's installed in the rear transmission. I built/measured per the instructions. Did I do something wrong? Is this normal or should I shim this out?

Thanks in advance guys.

Hi John,

I will check for you, can't remember what springs it is in the BE kit :-)...

I also got a bit of play, but shims it up a bit. I make so I just have a little play and all is running freely

3.4 springs. They should have a gold engraving on the top of the springs

Thanks Dan. I double check when I get home, but, I recall it being silver. I could be mistaken though.

Found this to be helpful.
