rc reciever batt last 10 mins after charge
Hi people my reciever battery only last 10 mins after fully charge I have a Kyosho evolva m3 on road but the servos inside are standard ones with 2.4G could it be the servos, battery or charger. The servos twitch really slow when the batt is dying.

Do you have a discharge function on your charger?
With that you can see how the discharge is. And when using a charger with a display you can see how much is going in. When fast charged the battery is warm? Try to feel the cells if one is getting more warm than the others. Or are you fooled by a false peak?
If you are not using a fast charger, go to a clubmember or LHS who has one.
Finally, the invest of a 2nd battery of 15 bucks would be wise to have and use it as a check.

No I don't have a discharger. only a wall plug charger. How long should these batterys charge for and is there any way of getting longer running time.
Thanks
Thanks

look on your wall charger it says its output mA. so, e.g if your charger says 150 mA and your pack is 1500mah you should leave it for 10hours +10% -> total=16hours, when battery is empty.

Thanks that's a great help what if the batt is 1200MAH or 2500MAH how many hours would that take .

add a 10% more for safety and you are done.
so ginen a charger with 150 mA output charging is 1200/150 = 8 hours + 1 = 9hours for a 1500 mah battery and 2500/150 = 16.5 hours + 1.5 = 18 hours for a 2500 mah battery
yet is good chance to buy a fast charger. Todays chargers are cheap and can charge/discharge every kind of
battery you need. Plus, some of them have internal power supply so they work with 220v out of the box. This way you can easily check the condition of the battery because they have a screen writing the number of maH the battery takes.

With a 130mA wallcharger you charge 130mAh capacity in 1 hour, with 2500mAh it takes at leat 2500/130 = 19 hour. Charging does loose some energy so you have to ad 40% time to it: 23h x 1.4 = 27h
A 1200mAh: 1200/130 = 9h x 1.4 = 13h
Be wise, buy a fast scharger and charge them at 2A, you will notice the voltage and power holds better.

Thanks the charger I have it has a dial on it to change the MAH so the same thing applies rite

I can not recommend charging a nihm rx battery at 2A, it will get hot, and will die after not too many cycles. I always charge my rx packs at 0.6A, it may take longer, but the battery responds better with improved capacity. Capacity is what you wan't from a rx battery, not the extra umph.

These 2/3A cells can handle a lot and 2A is not to much.

Get a good peak charger. They are pretty affordable these days.

Just get a new one, they do need to be replaced once in a while. I try to get a new one every year, they are cheap compared to the cost of fixing a runaway car and blown $600 motor. I charge mine at .5A, otherwise you just hurt the pack, unless I need to charge at the track and Im in a hurry, then maybe 1.0A. Get a good charger, thats a must.
