Anyone run 2x 7.2 in there Starter box? do you also run a voltage cut off?

Is there anypoint running good lipos.. i heard its best to run a lipo with low c.

is something like this ok?

Those batteries fully charged would be around 8.4 vdc; so two in series would be 17vdc. A little high for a starterbox. I would run a 1 x 4s lipo. When fully charge would be around 14.7vdc. I think the 1 x 4s would be better than 2 x 2s. I would believe you would want a high S battery. Dual motor starterboxes can draw some hefty current on initial start-up.

havent touched it yet.

gotta get my hudy setup station off my mate.. so i can re-do all the settings.

cant wait till i finally find out what the problem is, as iv checked all the gears and belts.. and no teeth missing, car rolls freely, each wheel rolls freely.. oneway spool seems to be working when i turn the wheels etc.. chassis is straight

im thinking its just the settings.

Be sure and check the set screws in the pullies. They could be just spinning on the shafts

Let me get this straight... you're saying 2s in series with another 2s has a higher voltage than a 4s battery?
If you have two 50 cent coins and your buddy has just one dollar, does he have less money than you?

I see your point. Both batteries still contain 4 lipos in series. But I'm not sure what a fully charged 4s battery will peak out at. I know a fully charged 2s will be around 8.4 volts. In series this would be about 17vdc. I would rather have one battery to care for rather than 2.

You could probaly go a little bigger in capacity. I linked that battery for reference only. For a 1/10 it should be okay if you run 1/8 scale you might need a little more capacity. You still should look for some type of battery monitoring system so you don't over discharge your batteries. I just run two 7.2 NIMH myself

The Losi 2200mah battery is fine for both scale cars. I know more than one guy that runs 1/10th and 1/8th using the losi and they last the entire weekend.

No cutoff being used.

I too will purchase the same Losi pack. It will not only last longer than the 12v Gell Cell ( I have gotten one that didn't last a full year) but will make your load a lot lighter. I have the 750 motor Ofna 10th/8th box and this will be perfect.

I use a 4S with 5000mAh. I prefer to use only one battery since it is less mess of cables and points of posible failure. Mine is like 25C so its on the low side of Lipos. I prefer to use low C numbers just to make the motor last a little longer. Remember that these motors are meant to run on a little over 12VDC.
