Default OS TR Engine

A question to all OS TR owners!

I stripped out my engine last night and found a disturbing thing! when I hold the piston and conrod assembly and push/pulling them longitually I noticed a 'slight' play in the upper conrod bushing area. It is not the bushing in the conrod, but the actual wrist pin moving in the piston hole!!

The movement is very slight but you can just feel it!! I did not check this when it was new but I know the NR engines have NO play in this area. Has anyone else checked this on their engines???

The TR has had about 1.5-2.0 litres of fuel through it (including break in) so it is still very new! Compression is still good!! I am running 30% nitro.

Could this be a problem with soft pistons on the OS????? I have not seen this on NR engines with over 4 gallons through them!!

The wrist pin is loose in the piston, Woooooha, I'd send it back.
But then did they tell you to run 30%?

Yeah Overkill Modifieds, LOL. I clicked on his profile, he was 15, LOL, OMG.
I reported the post. Then Pinky posted up that the guy who reported it was just as bad.
But I have never tried to sell anything on the HPI site, ever.
I moderate on 2 other forums and dont like to step on others toes.

Go figure , , ,

But that kid was up to something, and it wasnt a good thing.

You have to give him credit for having the audacity to put up a website like that..... claiming he has found something radically new, when the likes of RB, NR, OS etc...... cannot!!! However, I hope no one goes for this scam!!!

MtX: I'm no painting expert, but its quite simple. Just draw out the pattern on the outer surface of the shell. I masked the white/yellow portion off first with Tamiya masking tape. I like to cut the edges with a very sharp knife after applying a general layer of masking tape.
Paint sequence was black edging, then deep blue then continue to fade the blue. Lastly remove the masking a do a yellow fade followed all over with white (from a can)! You need a decent airbrush, but the job is not difficult!

Here is a larger pic, unfortunately the deep blue looks more like black on the digi pic!
