Racing the 733 for the first time
Hello guys, i'm back from Toledo after a full week of testing. The main goal was to learn the car, test every single adjustment and come up with a basic setup. I test a lot, so much that i used around lots of sets of tires! Every time i put my car in the track it had something different in the setup, even thru the qualys and the final race.
I have to say that i am really impressed with the car. Not only with the performance, but also durability. I had no failures after a full week of abuse.
I came up with 2 setups, one with the std car ( i mean with whatever comes in the box) and another one changing stuff around. I still need to work a little bit more to improve the setup, but this is a good starting point. I think i will be able to have a good performance at the nationals.
So regarding the setup, this is the one out of the box:
Front
stock diff oil
0 droop
middle roll center position
car long
2mm caster in front of arm
5.5mm ride height
stock springs (blue) 1st hole
3 hole piston
40wt oil (1000 cst)
0.5 toe out
1.5 camber
stock sway bar, flush in the collar
ackermann in back position and narrow
198mm width
Rear
stock diff oil
3 droop
1st hole bottom pins
car long
camber link inner and 2nd position from bottom
2mm under link on inner position
6mm of ride height
stock springs (red short) 2nd hole
3 hole piston
40wt oil (1000 cst)
2.5 toe in on each side
3.5 camber
stock sway bar, inside hole in the arm and flush in the collar
199mm width
Tires
38F
40R or 42R
2mm split
This will be my starting setup for the Nats:
Front
200K diff oil
-1 droop
middle roll center position
car long
3mm caster in front of arm
5.5mm ride height
stock springs (blue) 1st hole
2 hole piston
1100cst
1 toe out
2 camber
stock sway bar, 2mm in the collar
ackermann in back position and narrow
198mm width
Rear
80K diff oil
3 droop
2nd hole bottom pins
car 1mm shorter
camber link inner and 1st position from bottom
2mm under link on inner position
6mm of ride height
Long pink spring 2nd hole
3 hole piston
40wt oil (1000 cst)
2.5 toe in on each side
3.5 camber
Soft Sway bar inside hole in the arm and 2mm in the collar
199mm width
Tires
35F or 38F
40R or 42R
2mm split
I used stock gearing for Toledo (17 - 22 / 60 - 54)
Hope this info can help

Standard position.
There was no oversteer with this setup on the Toledo track.
I didn't try the Stratus body. I plan to do that soon, as well as the Altis.
As for tires, I know Paolo was running 38F/40R early in practice, but I don't know what he finished with.
I ran 35F/40R in qualifying, but ran the harder compound for the longer mains and discovered I liked those tires better.
