It is different. The threads for the gears are the same but the offset of the gears is different. It also looks like the angle of the clutch bell is different too. Additionally, the Mugen gear pitch is not compatible with the Kyosho so don't waste your time.

Default mugen clutchbell on evolva

yes the Mugen clutch bell works on the evolva, I currently run the mugen bell on my evolva. What you can't, do is take kyosho gears and try to screw them onto a mugen bell.

I was under the impression that the mugen pinion gears were not compatible with kyosho plastic spurs.. so what gearing do you run?

I either run 16/20 or 17/21 and 49/45 depending on track size. I have a buddy of mine that runs an entire mugen clutch setup on his evolva. The main reason why I run the mugen clutch bell is beacause I had two Kyosho gears split in two and fly off the Kyosho clutchbell during two seperate races. I never had any problems since switching to the mugen clutch bell and gears.

I have used the Kyosho gears on the Mugen Clutch Bell. All you need to do is put a spacer in between the two gears. I used the wheel shims or use something similar.

Thats good to know...I am assuming that you probably cant run one Kyosho and one Mugen gear on the same mugen clutch bell right? Ill have to give it a shot.

Not sure, have not tried 1 mugen & 1 kyosho gear at the same time. Give it a go.

Default New Evolva

Anybody have any news on the release date of the 2005 Evolva in the USA? Saw the car at RCX and it looks great.

Default 2005 Evolva.......when?

Man this thread is slow.....there has to be more chatter out there on this car. Time to refresh my last post about anyone knowing when Kyosho plans to release the 2005 car in the US.
