Are you building it with a 255 or 200 length?

Are the supplied foams offset? I have at least 5 sets of Fast Tyres with 2 degree offset. Hopefully they fit.

I just ordered mine last week...hopefully I have it soon.

off the Mugen bandwagon already?....

How'd you like the car?....Compared to the tc3?....Driving wise?...

I think the Mugens a nice car, butI havent seen anything corner like a tc3..

I'm not even sure why I bought an r40..I don't expect it to be faster....I just figured, since I used to bust HPI for not having a pro car,I should try it..

I'm gonna build it short wheelbase..The car uses sstd offeset wheels.,.

I think the main reason I bought one is because I hate having to spend an hour lining up body post holes and wheel wells.

The R40 and HPI bodies line up perfectly.

I think HPI will come up with a beefy guard pretty soon...Looks like this servo guard is not strong enough, i could easily bend the plastic with my one finger.

Or someone will make make it out of nice purple aluminum..

Glad I didn't get rid of all my purple fuel line when I got my tc3's..

I'm not completely off the Mugen thing...I actually liked it a little better than my NTC3...BUT parts support really sucked for me for the Mugen. I just finished a new shell for my Mugen which may end up looking pretty in a corner depending on how I like the R40. I purchased the R40 for 2 reasons. 1. Parts support should be great and 2. I actually like belt cars slightly better (call me crazy).

One major complaint I had with belts was the time it took for me to replace one once I needed to change. In the Mugen I had to strip down a lot of parts to change the belts. Yet another compaint was my tendency to loose a front dogbone in the corners. I never ended up purchasing universals (maybe that would of helped) but I would rather loose a cheap dogbone than replace a broken universal.

If I end up liking the R40...most likely I'll try and sell the Mugen. The mugen was great. I "think" I was a lttile faster with the Mugen than the NTC3.

As for now all cars are staying. The only car I sold and lost a ton of money on was the RS4 3 SS.

So I guess you'll run HPI bodies with the shorter wheelbase? I was also considering the shorter one because my track I run on is very tight and I "think" it should be quicker in the tight corners.

Unofficial results:

1. ATSUSHI HARA (HPI R40)
2. BILLY EASTON (Associated NTC3)
3. JOSH CYRUL (Trinity G4)

Congrats to Hara and HPI, not bad for the first outing on the R40

Billy bumped up from the B Main to take 2nd.

Josh apparently had a flameout but still managed 3rd.

well,I guess that says it all..

Default Hara was amazing

Hara was awesome out there. I was a little disappointed in the first few rounds, because Hara was in last place and he didn't look that fast. He eventually made some moves up. It was amazing to see him make some of those passes.
He ended up with a huge lead in first until about the middle of the race. It looked like he lost concentratrion and took his car to a little tumble and ended up on its back. The turn marshall was able to put him back on the track still in first, but Cyrul and Easton had some momentum going and overtook Hara. Those three were pushing it for a couple of laps and Cyrul ended up flaming out which put him out of the hunt. Hara eventually made his way to the inside of Easton and that's all she wrote. Hara stayed in the lead and kept it. Hara had a little more than a 3 second lead on Easton the rest of the race( except when Hara pitted for the last time and Easton went another lap before pitting). Easton did a good job of keeping pace(pushing) Hara the last 15 minutes of the race.
Hara admitted that his car started getting loose in the last 10 minutes and was really working hard keeping distance from Easton.
This is the first time I've gotten to see all these Pro racers go at it in Sedan. As much talk as I've heard about the amazing driving skills that Burch has, he really didn't show it out there today. The snake was really loose and it took a tumble at least 5 times during that race.
I'm glad I got my R40 already, cause they won't be able to keep them on the shelves after today.

What a great win for HPI. For all the bashing HPI has taken for not previously producing a capable chassis, this is a great way for them to intruduce their new product. I think all the people who were itching to say "HPI makes toys, this car can't/won't win anything" will have to save their comments for a different car.

Default Orion Fresh Kicks Foams

The thing that suprised me was that he trued his tires down quite a bit and was still able to get them to last a 45 minute main. I should have stuck around to see what the tires looked like afterwards. Anybody use Orions Fresh Kick Foams. I think Hara said he used 37 shore all the way around. Hopefully his setup goes online soon.

Here's a pic of one of the HPI cars at the nationals. He was next to Hara, so I assumed he was one of the sponsored drivers. Hara was too busy at the time I took the picture.
