hey guys,
im having trouble with my R40s 2 speed
when the car was new it was changing slightly early, and then the clutch tightened itself up and the 2 speed stopped shifting.. it seems that it doesnt matter what i try the 2 speed jus wont change!! i also noticed theres a small crack on one of the 2 speed shoes right near the area where the 2 speed shoes meet.. could this be my problem??

yes...also,before putting in the new shoes, take an x acto blade and LIGHTLY take off a little bit of the edge of the shoes on the outside where it would hit the bell..

Can't blame you there..
Take your time putting it together....and remember to enjoy yourself while doing it...Sometimes people forget that......Driving alone is not all there is to this hobby...

I have a question about putting oil/grease in the diffs.
My buddy who has a R40 said don't put oil in the diffs because they'll leak. He recommended Associated Black Grease.
Is this true?

you should be able to fill them with silicone oil they come with gaskets
maybe use some rtv also if you cannot get them to seal properly with the gasket
i think the kit set-up uses 5k front oil and grease in rear
i use a one-way and 30k rear and havent noticed any leakage yet
