That can not be. If that guy says the 540 motors wears fast then it is so!

LOL but seriously, that thing was so old and used, there was very little of the purple anodizing left on it. By far the trashiest looking box on the grid but it served me well. Definitely got my money's worth out of that purchase.

Same here... I got my Purple Mugen box used in 2003 and it's still going strong. I've since replaced the wheel once and rewired it with silicone wire and 4s lipo. I have second Mugen box for my 1/8th scale and it's over 12 years old and still great. I'd say that if someone complains that they wear out the motors or the wheel really fast, they are the problem, not the box.

20 yrs strait usage?? I doubt that 100% I run my 1/8 scale 3-4 times per day 3-4 times a week and have burned out 3 starter wheels in 30 yrs. Hobbico 3320 and I use a Hobbico 180 hd hand starter. I don't use starter box as they never hold up to What I got.

I burned my motors because every week I had one or 2 fresh engines to break in and some were very tight. If you handlap or oilbath your engines before the 1st start then the motors will never be overloaded.
