I am more interested in the new two-speed shaft and the new parts related to that. And also the new pulley ratio that will help acceleration. My 988 accelerated very well, but if this is an improvement, the car will be that much better on small tracks. The new second gear design should be more reliable than the previous one. That will be an advantage because it doesn't require maintenance and parts replacement at short intervals of use. More chassis flex will also help on low to medium bite surfaces and hopefully reduce tire wear. More after this weekend.

Can’t wait to see the follow up picture with parts scattered all over the desk, lol.

Man, it seems only like a ‘few’ years ago. Such an amazing time in my life as I’m sure yours. Proud to have competed at the 1st 1/5th Worlds with ya.

Nice! Ah, so THAT’s the fancy rear mount that has been getting all the buzz. I presume that those vertical extensions are meant to nestle in and provide support to the vertical fins on the body?

Devlin, do you always run without the screw holding the top deck to the servo saver?

Had a chance to run my 989 last Sunday. Only ran 15 or so laps due to rain. But during that time I felt a little more chassis rotation with the same setting that I used on the 988. I really like the design of the parts and entire layout. Shocks are sweet. Easy to work on. Congrats to Michael Salvin and the rest of the Serpent design crew.

I snapped a small shoulder bolt/bushing under the radio tray. One of the little items to finish the build.
