That we like to run with flex is only that our dampers are to much primitive
Roelof:

fyi, component flex is actually a controlled setup item at even the highest levels of racing. Take a look at the rear suspension on an F1 car. They use the flex of the rear suspension pieces to provide dampening (hint: try and find the shocks.) They can adjust the flex of the suspension arms to alter handling characteristics.

This guy was for many years head engineer of the Dutch "Racing for Holland" team running a Dome S101 and was hired 2 times by the Dome factory team for the 24h of LeMans and beside that he is working for several rally and touringcar teams. So I think he knows his stuff....

That a form of flex is needed is standard knowledge. No flex with a lot of forces will shatter the parts into many pieces.

By the way, he was very impressed in the techniques, performance and setup tools we use.

He probably does know his stuff. But knowing your stuff versus quoting someone that knows their stuff are two different things.

So are you saying that in real racing they want a "maximum stiff chassis" but not so maximum stiff?

He wants maximum control over the suspension so that is with as less flex possible. Ofcourse there is always some flex in the parts and chassis but flex as a setup option like the Xray T2 chassis is no option to him.
