Newbie

Not really new to RC cars but new to the site. I recently got stationed in Okinawa Japan, Camp Kinser. Was looking for some info on RC shops here on the island. I have a traxxas Revo 2.5R. I upgraded to a 3.3 motor last fall when I was at home in the states. I have been here for a few weeks now, I came here from Camp Lejeune. I dont get too competative with my RC car with racing and things, but I wouldnt mind checking out some racing. I see there there is an RC track at Courtney. I will have to make my way up there soon. Looking foward to meeting some people and having some RC fun.

Rob

Hey man! Welcome to Okinawa! Go the the track locator forum here on RCTECH and search okinawa rc or the hill at okinawa. That is where all us military guys are talking about our hobby on okinawa. As for gas, RC Paradise in the Kadena mall is good. And x-hobby on the 58 between futenma and foster has gas too! Welcome to okinawa see you up at courtney hopefuly soon!

I was wondering when you were going to chime in on this one. LOL. I do miss Okinawa sometimes. But mainland is awesome. If need something else besides fuel, then let me know. There are a ton of stores here on mainland. We do need to start some find of thread for us military boys here on the tech. I would be nice to have all that info prior to PCS.

Mr. Bojangles 01-18-2010 05:31 PM

For sure dude...we def need a mil thread...

Beenbreto 01-18-2010 08:21 PM

Yeah man we defiantly need a Military thread on here. I know after being stationed in Germany for 5 years it was defiantly hard trying to get Rc info in Europe

Revooooooo 01-18-2010 10:02 PM

I will try and PM the mods to see if they will do it or not.

Thank you for the info. I have seen x hobby on 58. I am going to try and get out there this weekend. Once I get my buddies van it will be a lot easier to get out there. I am assuming I have to use yen to buy parts and fuel out there? Since were haveing another power outage this Saturday its a good opportunity to get out and maybe head up to the track.

Mr. Bojangles 01-19-2010 05:37 AM

For sure dude. You can use us dollars to pay for stuff, but they give you a pretty bad dollar to yen rate.

HASTINGSRJ 01-19-2010 10:13 AM

yeah, I would imagine that they do....thank you
