The reason why some people credit the Serpent 811's design to Gerd is because prior to Serpent's reorganization, Gerd was the one who was developing the Serpent buggy program. Once the reorganization began and certain programs had to be cut, Gerd (presumably) took his design and founded Durango.
That I'm aware of, there's no substantial evidence to show that the current Serpent buggy is/was primarily Gerd's design, though it would be only natural for Serpent to build upon what basic design work was already done prior to the split; if only to cut down on time and more R & D. The current, soon-to-be-released Durango itself seems to have gone through many, many changes even right up until the last minute, so we can hope that the big bugs will be worked out, but this in itself is no guarantee.
Honestly, I like both buggies and I was very happy to see the revised radio tray on the Serpent which looks even better than I was expecting. In fact, while it may not be politically correct to say so, I think that the 811 may have a slight edge but time will tell.
C,mon guys, let's try to keep this from turning into another urinating contest.

I agree. Now what will be interesting to see who TD can attract under their umbrella. For sure the top US drivers might be too expensive but fact is TD needs additions to Hupo who now is the only real ACE in 1:8 so they can get the titles under their belt. Car won't hold it back that's for sure

If you guys wanna see actual prototypes he made a few at the last Neo09/ race. They may have been for different car makes but the layout design was the exact same. Google it or go look it up at oOple or Neobuggy
