Hello,
Is it not bad to do, or is it BAD, to mix a digital steering servo with an analog throttle servo? Just curious. I just purchased a digital steering servo but will have to wait some time to get enough money to buy a good digital throttle servo. I would really like to use the steering servo to see how it is, but I don't know if I should mix the two? What do you think? Thanks

That depends on your radio system. If its a Futaba with HRS, you cannot run the analog servo in HRS, you have to switch to PPM. You won't get the full advantage of the digital servo in this mode though.

I was told before that it may work but its not recommended because of the different systems and power requirements of a analog and digital servo. In a way it would confuse the receiver or be more prone to glitching. Although I have tried it in the past and it worked fine.

Spectrum runs both with no problem, have done for yrs in my stadium.
Before i went to spectrum my Ko Mars r will only operate digital servos.

Hey all,
I just bought an M11 radio with the Sepktrum Pro reciever/transmitter set-up. You would think that this quality of a radio would be able to handle the two different types, right? Thanks again for the info, I greatly appreciate it.

The Spektrum doesn't care if the servo is digital or not. Only the Spektrum/Futaba HRS does.

i ran both with my m-11..it was even the 2.4ghz dsss system..and had no problems...

THANK YOU FOR THIS POST!
I thought my receiver had fried and was about to toss it. Then I thought it was the servos, when I started having the same problems as in the first post.
I was mixing analog and digital servos in HRS mode. I had forgotten about it completely that they wont work. If I applied the brakes without the load on the servo, all was fine, till I mounted the linkages and then all would stop. I guess the servos have some sort of protection?

I am using Hitec HS-645MG for steering and Hitec HS-7966 for the throttle/brakes.

Never had a problem mixing with Airtronics FM.

The Hitec 645/625/925/945 can not stand HRS mode, they can even burn out!

I have made a small electronic interface to use analoge servo's on a HRS system and it works fine, it helps me to use other cars with older servo's om my Futaba/Spectrum HRS system.

I still run an Airtronics FM radio. Never had a problem with mixing before, and now that everyone has these new radios, I have my own channel. No interference, no glitches, and no runaways, no binding, hehe....
