Only a massive load can cause that .Ive seen it before usually from thick mud on the drive train etc.shoes look like 6061 aluminum (soft)

I work in the aluminium pigment industry any metal with letters ium at the end can burn if ground fine enough also seen carbon packing burn, both burn without any flame so to speak. But do check your bearings , the casing wear caused by bad bearings is kiss of death.
