I have ran about 14 gal since last nov. Raced all over from Central Oh to ATL Ga. I run truck only. I have slowed down lately in the peak season probably 15-20 hrs a week of work doing whatever. 75% of your success is how well prepared your are. And in my opinion there is no substitute for track time. Making sure ur prepared is key to being able to make setup changes and feeling the difference the changes make. If you come to the track chasing a motor or screws are coming out, then you really don't feel motivated to try anything, all the more reason for having good dependable equitment.

Ive only been able to race 13 times this year (frequent bad weather) and am just finishing my 5th gallon. Admittedly I dont practice much at all or use a lot of fuel breaking in new engines but I do finish 95% of all my races and run many long mains.

Between races I spend on average probably 5-6 hours cleaning and preparing but if I cut the TV off I am certain I could cut that down to 2-3 hours. Mostly I just clean and check over. I do diffs or shocks around every gallon of fuel or so but mainly base that on the importance of the race I will be attending or if I expect track conditions I may not be setup for. I regularly replace clutch bearings and air filters between races but have been known to occassionally push them multiple races if they look good enough.

Im right at 10 gallons since March - I run pro most of the time. I run a Losi 8T 2.0 OS engines - i practice about 4 hours a week and wrench between 8 and 12 hours a week - depending on the level of race is coming up. My truck is ALWAYS clean and ready to go, except on Mondays. ( tear down )

Just got back into the hobby. I used maybe 1/4 gallon on Saturday with about an hour of practice time and 25 mins of race time (should be typical of my average week) in the sportsman class for a total of 3/4 gallon this year . I typically rip the car apart on Sunday and spend about 4 hours on maintenance provided nothing needs replaced.

AMEN! I believe that it's closer to 90%. I finished way higher in some mains just because other people's cars crapped out. I am a huge believer in preventive maintenance (Comes from my aircraft maintenance background)

im on my 6th gallon of fuel now this year. 3-4 of it was o donnel when i first started racing and the rest is byrons. i just switched to it not too long ago.

Same here. Every week I wipe/lube my drive shafts, lube the front/rear ring/pinion, inspect the clutch, and replace any bearings through the entire car that need it. I also re-surface my brake discs / reset brake balance as needed and replace any leaking exhaust gaskets.

Just curious, what's everyone paying for their fuel? I am on about my 10 gallon this year. LHS is selling S&W 30% for $37. Sounds high to me which is why I am asking.
