The stock motor tuned right runs really well and I have run 3 gallons through it with no problems. I just put a werks p3 21 pro in and had to go back to the 16t pinion because it didn't have the torque that the stock motor has but runs much faster.

The stock engine that comes with those are good motors. They last for ever tune easy and hold the tune to. Use it for a while and if your racing it you can upgrade it later but if you arent I would leave it. I would get a better exaust for it though. 2035, 053, something in that range.

I had a stock sc8,my buddy has one with an RB 28 on it,there is no comparison,of course he has a $400 motor on his,thats about what I paid for my whole truck,if you have the money do an upgrade,if you don't the pro 28 on the truck is good,upgrade you're clutchbell to a 17 or 18 if you have long straight aways at you're track,you loose some bottom end but you don't rev the truck out as much on long straights and you gain a little better traction out of the corners.

i luv the stock motor but how much a new stock motor? or is the lrp .28 the same thing?

This is a Thunder tiger engine. That in itself says reliability and easy tune. As for is it good enough? I'm the one with the RB TM928 on mine. It is a totally new animal. If you can control it the speed is unbelievable. Is it better? Yes, If you can drive it. No, If your not smooth with a controller " novice" I would highly recommend the stock engine. Plus you can get them for under $100.00.
