"Grouchy" just leaves his at the track and brings a fresh new one out of the box, but he is a sponsored pro. Kids at our local track come out just to get his dirty cars.

jaz, the best thing is wd40. i never have any issues and since were on the same track i wouldnt thing you would. i clean it with simple green and air compressor then after it all clean soak it in wd40 and spray it off again.
maybe if you would get in first now and again instead of just driving behind people and catchin all the dust it wouldnt be so dirty ha ha jk jk....... you racin sat?

I saw some guys spraying shoe shine/wax (aerosol type) all over their chassis. Haven't tried it myself though

Have anybody tried trinity nitro cleaner? I brought a bottle but didnt use it at the track yet. I used it to clean my cars after I got home. I usually use simple green and wd40.
Somebody wrote in another thead last week that wd40 was bad to use. Anybody know anything about that?

first of all i brush my car down after EVERY race that way the stuff dont dry and stick . then simple green and air compressor - and if ist really bad - they after the simple green and air - i spray wd40 and air - the WD40 will keep the car lubed up (hahahahahahaha) - once i get home or if its a 2 day race - tear it apart and clean ---- lot if work burt nessessary

Spray it off with a high preasure water hose, immediately blow dry with air, spray with wd and then air all that off. Check everything over for repair. 30 mins your done. I change bearings often anyway so thats not an issue to me.

Well since I basically bought he d/w my wife is a little more understanding. That and I use a simple green and water mixture before, then blow off any loose dirt, then put the stuff in the d/w. It's pretty clean before it goes it but gets all the stuff in between and in the nooks and crannies. At the track I use the simple green and water mix followed by air followed by WD40.
Yep, WD40 will definitely attract dirt but it will also prevent the dirt from adhering as well. Makes it much easier to clean if it's stuck to an oily film rather than directly to your parts.
My buddy is so clean right now I'm reluctant to go trash it as the track tomorrow. Not reluctant enough not to race though. The day I start owning shelf queens is the day I quit.
