Hey everyone!!!!!!!

I went down to the LHS to pick up a Hyper 7 for my 9 year son. They were out of stock. They did have the Ravenger in stock. Whats you thoughts on the Ravenger. Should I go with the Ravenger or wait for th hyper 7? Thanks everyone. By the way they are the same price.

If your racing I would wait for the hyper 7. My hyper 7 was compative until I sold it and that was not long ago. The Ravenger was more for bashing and was never really compative.

if your dead set on the 7 then wait...if you have extra gear...id vote on saving some $$ and getting another 8ight...parts in common and its equally capable unlike the hyper to a point.

I would love to get him an 8 buggy. Its just alot more money. I dont have many spare parts for my 8. Its tuff cause I really dont want to wait but if the 7 is much better than the Ravager then I would. I would just order the 7 black online. Hmmmmmmm im stuck!!!!!!

no the CEN's are junk imo.....the 7 black will be best for you and your son....order it online and you should get a pretty good deal with a coupon applied.

I would get the Picco buggy out of the ones you picked and they can be had for $300. But I recommend a Caster ZX1 RTR for him. It comes with a GO tech sport engine and is very durable. On any RTR eventually you will want to upgrade the electronics but besides that they are solid and at a good price, parts are cheap and have tons of upgrades that arent pricey at all. Go to Casterusa.com. It is probably the most durable, easy to drive, and user friendly out there.

I would get the picco. It's around the same price as the hyper 7 tq black but is alot better. It comes with 16mm big bores and has a .21. Alot of peolpe with them take out the pull-start backing plate (If you have a starter box) and change the tires and it will run with almost anyone.

Ok good advise here. I am leaning towards the Picco. It seems the Picco has more of set up like the Losi 8 buggy. Good price too. Will it keep up on the track?

I don't know how much you have looked around at prices online so I am just throwing this out there. As someone else mentioned, the commonality of parts between your buggy and your son's buggy would be a huge benefit if you were to look at getting him an 8ight. Amain has the RTR version for $499 and the kit for $299. These prices are before coupon which would knock $25 off of those prices. An additional benefit to the 8ight RTR is the included Spektrum radio system. If your son finds that RC is not for him, the resale value on a Losi is much better than on the Ofna offerings.
