Like the title says. I don't want to know how cheap a servo I need. I just want to know, at what point it gets overkill. How much torque and speed is necessary, and do you run different servos in the throttle over the steering.

I have run the JR 8711.. its the Strongest servo.. 407oz at .15 and its probaly overkill but i love it.. it helps hold ur lines ALOT better... and i use a futaba 9402 for throttle.. 111oz at .10.. you can go faster but thats what i like..

but i might switch to this for throttle

IMO Jr has an outstanding product...

i used to run hitec then i went to futaba....now JR i will never look back

I like a lot of steering servo, Hitec 5995tg 416in.oz. at 7.4 volts (I run Lipos)
And the Hitec 965 144in.oz. torque and .10 speed for throttle
It is always nice to have too much

I run a Futaba S9350 for steering at 139oz at .12 seconds . A Hitec HS-5965MG for throttle at 130oz and .10 seconds . Throttle is a little overkill IMO but is what I had .

All these slow and/or weak servos. Yawn...

Get the Ace DS1015. 201 oz./in torque and .10 speed w/6v (I run 6.5V li-po so a little stronger and faster) Nothing else even compares.

Are u using direct connection ?

I mean from lipo battery plug in directly into receiver ? .... without voltage step down in between ?

One electric guy in electric car forum does that, so his receiver receive 7.2V and so does the servo.

Analog is a joke-way too slow from 0-10 degrees of throw. I don't know about you, but if you're throwing the steering wheel from lock to lock you're a D-main racer at best! LOL!

yeah i use digitial servos myself i have been thinking about trying ace servos that is what of my freind run but the airttronics have been doing good.

When they take a dump, like mine did, you should give the Ace a try. All of my servo problems ended the day I went to Ace.

I run Futaba S9351 on steering & S9350 on brake/throttle. If you need more than that, you gotta go over your car settings. I never had any issues with these Futaba servos either. Powerful servos is one thing, failing ones is another. Warranty does you no good on race day when its dead. That I have yet to see on a Futaba setup correctly. Just clean and grease the gears sets every now and then and you should be fine. I literally watched a S9350 move an engine during full throttle and center brake ass'y when braking on a Kyosho MP777 SP2. We thought the engine mounts were loose, but it was the servo flexing the mounts/frame towards the servo because the ends points weren't set yet!

You don`t need 200 oz for a buggy . And your servos aren`t much faster than what has been posted . You are not going to notice two hundredths of a second
faster or slower with your servos . Ace has great servos and plan to try one if I ever have a servo go out . My servos have been in my 8ight for over a year and fast and strong enough to get my car around any corner . And sure the people that have listed feel the same .

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, however, I DO notice a few hundreths of a second. Maybe someday you will also. And, on a high bite track the additional torque, along with a truggy servo spring, prevents the front tires from pulling to center when exiting a turn under full throttle. Again, you might not notice it but many of us do.
