Thumbs up Nebraska UF1 Series!!

All right guys, I'd like to see if there is enough interest to get a cool F1 series going. Something along the lines of the UF1 series they run in California. Here's the website if you're not familiar, UF1.

Basic rules would be any 2WD F1 chassis (190mm max), ROAR 21.5 motor, ROAR "Blinky" ESC and 7.4v lipo, rubber tires.

UF1 race format is 2 minute qualifiers with your fastest lap setting up triple, 10 minute mains.

I would like to get a schedule set up to run both at the 'PLEX and the MRO asphalt track in Lincoln. The 'PLEX races would be on Sundays and the MRO races could be either Saturday night or Sundays, depending on numbers and what the club would like to do.

OK, so June 24th is the first Sunday we have open. Let me know who is interested and will this date work to get enough cars to race? The next available date at the 'PLEX would be August 19th that doesn't interfere with any other events. I will also check with Mark to see what the MRO schedule will allow.

**Might also add VTA to the race day if it will bring more cars.

I'd really like to try and get this going so please, let's get some feedback to get this rolling!!

Thanks,

Tim Ski

Sounds great! I am ready to pull the trigger on the car if you all tell me to

I'm always ready to race my VTA too. I'll leave it up to you all, but count me in on whatever we decide to do. If anyone needs help with anything, I'm here for that too.

Let's race!

I just spent the better part of the night reading up on this class and browsing all the cool photos. The F201 cars a decade ago were a hit and one of my favorite classes.

I know the F104W kit comes with a body, but are there decals too? Or are there team decals sheets available seperately?

I will be in for sure.
HPI, Tamiya, 3racing etc... You can run any of the 2wd cars. It would just be nice if they were all painted like the real cars past and present. Or if not a real scheme, something that looks like it could have been. Would be even cooler to pair up and have matching team cars eventually with a team or manufactures points series.

My only other input is that right off the bat I think we should have the option to run rubber or foam tires. After looking in the other threads, there is almost a non existent difference in lap times when running 21.5 and the corect tires. This way all the guys with TCS stuff could use what they have and slowly switch to rubber and everyone else wouldn't have to buy more tires than they need also.

you can go Tamiya all the way if you like. The places named like F1 paintlab and d-drive will have what you need. For foams you can't go wrong with d-drive have for 4 tires each set. and thier are others. The sakura F109 and the RGX are popular here. They do have a longer wheelbase and cost less than the Tamiya's. and use Tamiya parts. www.rcmart.com and other places. At our track we have brushless F1 and sportsman which is silvercan motor only to get the new peeps starting at a lower cost. Have fun!
