I dropped two of these trucks off to a buddy for him and his son. Took them out of the box read the directions, charged them up and starting to run them. One broke within 5 minutes of running. The rim broke and pulled off the truck. He never even made it outside to run on the track he made for them. Seems like the rims are kinda weak. I think he hit a chair in the house when trying it out but if it broke that easy I would be looking for a dish type rim as soon as some are made for the truck.

Yeah Losi could of but a little better rubber on the truck, and yes my rim has a gouge in it but it not effecting the yet. When I go to hobbyshop this afternoon, I'm going to see if they have any different types of rim. I'm sure RPM will be making some soon. I'm not sure on the size of rim, it is not listed in the parts list or anywhere. Plus it has mini hexes on the axles. So the Mini-T wheel would fit either.

Yup Mini-T wheel are too small, over on the one18th forum, they have a Losi rep and he was saying they that the only wheels/tires avaible are replacement stock, but they are working on getting some more choices before the end of the year. So I guess I just have get a new set of stock rims and tires.

I got one of these for my wife yesterday and she had a blast with it. I thought the battery life was kind of short but then I thought 'What do you expect for a truck with two motors and only one battery??'
I don't think I got as much run time as Bandit did but I may not have had the battery fully charged either. I will try it again another day and see how it does
On the subject of batteries... a friend of mine mentioned possibly using a li-po battery in this thing for more run time. What do you guys think of that possibility??
This is my first post here... the forums look pretty cool and a LOT of quality reading!! Can't wait to dig in further

Li-po would work, but you have modify the battery bay a little. And as for my run times, after I used my peak charger the batteries where giving me insane run times. I charged them at about 2 amps, and after charges like that I was getting that battery life. The wall charger is good, but nothing is better than a peak charger.

Again on the topic of batteries, if you want good run times I would suggest custom packs, there is a place that's advertiesed here, but I bought them through eBay called Max Amps, and they have great batteries at a good price. I recently bought 2 sets of IB3800's for my Stampede and they are awesome. But they also have 1200's as well which I plan on purchasing. They carry Intellect and GP batteries, also they have Li-po. They offer assemble packs, and loose cells. With the loose cells, they come with battery bars, wires, and shrink wrap.

picked up my mini lst tonight, very impressed with how fast it is out of the box. I built up a 4 cell pack and disconnected one of the motors so my 5 year old daughter could handle it in the house and it's still pretty quick
One of my hexes was warped out of the box though. Quick fix with washers between the hex and the rims and it's all good now.
