Default Dual Servo Mod w/pics - RC18

I have been working on a "project" car for some time now. One of the mods that I have done on this car is dual HS-65MG servos - a rather complex modification compared to the stock steering set up. I am building this car for a specific purpose and wanted something that would have zero play in the steering while keeping the car well balanced - something the 1/10 scale servo mod did not offer. I have used the DP steering link on other RC18's but there was still some movement in the steering. Rather than standard b a ll stud ends, I chose the Dubro rod ends which screw into the steering knuckles and the servo arms. It allows for smooth steering, but no free play. Part of the design for this car required the removal of the upper chassis plate which allowed me to put a second servo in without any binding issues. The center drive shaft is close to each servo, however at no point does it make contact with the servo mounts.

The clear plexi-glass that is mounted on below the servos was necessary due to the aluminum chassis design. A stock chassis would not require this. The round black plastic parts that are mounted on the servo are not part of the servo mod; they are used for another purpose on this car.
