You can start out little ones with an Overland or Monster Z around 4 or 5 but I have seen some of the Japanese kids around here racing the MR-02 and MR-03cars at ages 7-9 with stock brushed motors.

Ok, my MR-03VE is still getting burned by all the guys with the Li-Fe conversion and I can't ask them for much assistance due to the language barrier so I need some help here. Can I do the Li-Fe battery conversion on the MR-03VE with just the Li-Fe balancing plates, connector adapters, and battery holders? I want to make sure that the stock board is Li-Fe compatible before I run out and grab a new charger and the other items. I don't see any other changes that the guys I run with have made to theirs so I am pretty sure that I can make the switch but just want to tap the knowledge on here first.

Edit: I did a little research (usually helps a lot) and found that I need to change the settings on the stock board using ICS so I downloaded the program and will have that available but will need to get the USB adapter to use it. I also did a little more research on my charger and found out that it is Li-Fe capable so no need to get a new charger either. Looks like I am going to be doing the conversion and grabbing some Li-Fe packs.

I never did any board changes. It just works. I didn't add the weights either, but i tend to run a softer suspension setup on Kyosho's carpet track.

I actually tried the purple (medium soft) springs in the front the other day and was able to carry a little more speed in the corners so I threw on some new rear tires and was almost able to hold the throttle through the high speed turns. It is a carpet track as well so maybe I will try it out without the weights first and can throw them in later if it feels like it needs it. I really would like to be able to adjust the dual rate on it but when I did the brushless conversion, I just grabbed a KT-18 tx and it doesn't have dual rate tuning options. I was able to set the EPAs so that helped a little but I think that I am going to have to upgrade the tx as well if I am going to try and run it seriously.

I ended up doing the Li-Fe conversion and got 4 batteries, connector cable for the car, and charger connector for $45. The LHS where I run them had the ICS manager and cable to program the board so the owner helped me with getting the programming done considering it was in Japanese. I ran it in a GT class race the same day and it was by far quicker. It is definitely worth the extra $ to get that boost.

Has anyone heard anything about the new Kyosho Mini Z MHS System?? Will it be available for both brushed and brushless?

I'm getting some nasty traction roll at my local carpet track, coming off a long straightaway into a sharp 180 degree turn. Here's my setup:

98mm MM chassis
Soft tires in the front (glued), very soft in the rear
4.5mm 3Racing carbon T-plate
3Racing rolling damper with medium springs
PN V2 ball diff
PN V3 LCG motor mount

My next upgrades are the Reflex Racing St-St upper suspension arm pin and low profile front suspension set. Not sure if that will help.

Any thoughts?

Try a softer set of springs in the front and a hard spring in the rear. Also, what toe and camber settings are you running?

It looks like it will work with all ASF systems but it won't work with the Sports system.

But you still need to buy more parts to do that, I wasn't sure if anything could be done in the stock configuration.
